inTOTUM® designed the BP Saltwater service station and carwash to address the challenges of a complex corner site. The project incorporated the existing service station (to be demolished) and adjoining properties.
Customer experience and community considerations were central to the concept design. Safe traffic flow, seamless carwash queuing, unimpeded fuel delivery access, and reduced noise and visual impact on neighbours were all addressed through careful planning.
Activated street frontages, textured cladding, and landscape elements reflect the BP brand while creating a welcoming, human-scaled environment. Coloured transparent acoustic panels on the high fence reduce noise to surrounding residences while allowing natural light to filter through, avoiding the harsh visual impact of traditional sound barriers.
The result is a reinvigorated, functional, and thoughtfully designed piece of urban infrastructure that balances operational efficiency with community and environmental considerations.
